MANDREM: A 45-year-old woman from Madhlamaj, Mandrem, died on Wednesday after sustaining serious injuries in a two-wheeler accident at Mandrem.
According to police, the accident occurred on Saturday when the woman was travelling as a pillion rider with her husband from Madhlamaj towards Deulwada. The two-wheeler reportedly lost balance while negotiating a speed breaker, causing the woman to fall onto the road.

She sustained serious head injuries in the fall and was initially taken to the Tuem Community Health Centre for treatment. She was later shifted to the North Goa District Hospital in Mapusa.
As her condition required further treatment, she was subsequently referred to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. Despite treatment, she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
