AAP manifesto promises to double social benefits

PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa released its social security manifesto, promising to double the benefit under the Laadli Laxmi scheme and give Rs 5000 as an unemployment allowance.

PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa released its social security manifesto, promising to double the benefit under the Laadli Laxmi scheme and give Rs 5000 as an unemployment allowance. 
The manifesto, released on Friday, states that if AAP is voted to power in Goa in 2017 they will double the benefits of most of the schemes which includes the Mamata Scheme, and Laadli Laxmi scheme for girl child, unemployment allowance for jobless youth, Griha Adhar scheme for women and Dayanand Social Security scheme for senior citizens. 
AAP said that under the Laadli Laxmi scheme it will provide Rs 2 lakh to girls to pursue their higher education or setting up of business or for wedding. The eligibility criteria and provisions will remain the same.
For the girl child, AAP also promised to increase the benefit by 100 percent will provide Rs 50000 under the Mamata scheme. 
Benefits under the Griha Adhar scheme for women will be also increased to Rs 3000 from the existing Rs 1500 and for senior citizens the DSS scheme benefit will be increased by 50 percent which will provide Rs 3000 from the existing payout of Rs 2000.
