After going through the water shortage during the summer season as taken to be normal by PWD (Phen) in whole of Goa and with the delay in onset of monsoons much to our relief, Goa got rains to fill the dams. But three days from now the PWD (PHEN) is sending untreated dirty water (brownish colour) through its consumer pipelines in Siolim.
This is terrible negligence by the Engineer of PWD (PHEN) allowing the consumers to drink such water, who knows if any bacteria are present in such water. Memories of the sewerage water in Panjim from a famous hotel caused so much health problems to the public. I hope Siolcars will be safe.
It’s high time the valve operator is made to collect daily water samples from designated points for water analysis to be sent to the laboratory for testing.
It’s the duty of the service provider to see that the samples are collected periodically at end point for analysis to assure the consumers that PWD is supplying safe drinking water.
Let us not take things for granted that Goa PWD is serving the best and safe drinking water which is analysed after treatment from the plant while the supply pipelines are corroded and exposed to the sewerage water along the route.
The consumers pockets are getting burnt by ordering for untreated water tanker and now filtrations at homes is also required for safe consuming of water.
“Sabke saath sabka vikas”, seems to be a good motto to fleece the consumers from all sides. I hope the PWD and WRD Ministers will take note of this.
