PANJIM: Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao, Governor Mridula Sinha and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar have extended their greetings and best wishes to the people on the occasion of Easter.
In his message, the Archbishop said, “To all who celebrate the feast of Easter and to every person of goodwill I am pleased to convey my warm greetings and prayerful wishes for God’s abundant blessings and every good gift. Easter celebrates the rising of Jesus from death to a new life, reminding us that light conquers darkness, love conquers hatred and truth conquers deceit.”
He added, “As one more feast of Easter comes by, I pray that all of us, living in this beautiful State of Goa, may join together in building a new society, wherein the interests of others will reign above our own interests. May we be challenged to be genuine agents of peace, understanding and goodwill.”
Governor Sinha in her message said that Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the tomb after his crucifixion. Easter is the fulfilled prophecy of the Lord Jesus, who was persecuted, died for our sins, and rose on the third day. Remembering the resurrection of Jesus is a way to renew daily hope that we will always have victory over sin.
Chief Minister Parrikar in his message said that Easter is a time to share love and happiness. “On this day, let us pledge to strive for the benefit and welfare of others and let peace and harmony prevail among the people.”
Meanwhil, Shantaram Naik, former MP has wished all the people of Goa, a very happy Easter.
