Vasco girl succumbs to dengue

VASCO: A five-year-old girl undergoing treatment for dengue at Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital at Bambolim died on Tuesday.

VASCO: A five-year-old girl undergoing treatment for dengue at Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital at Bambolim died on Tuesday. Lavanya Naik, a resident of Headland Sada in Mormugao was suffering from fever since last Saturday (August 20). With her condition turning severe, Lavanya was shifted from a private hospital in Vasco to GMC Bambolim on Sunday night and she died on Tuesday morning. 
According to the victim’s relative, Lavanya was suffering from fever for two days and the same got healed. However, on Saturday, she again fell ill after which the family admitted her to a private hospital in Vasco. Since her health condition is not improving there, she was then shifted to GMC where she died on Tuesday.
Herald made several attempts to contact Health Officer Dr Rashmi Khandeparkar via phone, but she did not accept any call.
