PANJIM: ‘Problem’, a tiatr presented by Alfi Art Production, Divar, bagged the first prize at the Kala Academy’s 41st ‘A’ group tiatr competition 2015-16. The association was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000, besides a rolling trophy.
‘Visvas Ghat’ a tiatr presented by Calangute Association, Calangute was awarded the second prize of Rs 75,000 and ‘Moja Anim Soja’, a tiatr by Anil Olga Production, Orda, Candolim won the third prize of Rs 25,000.
The prizes were given away by the chairman of Kala Academy, Vishnu Surya Wagh, member secretary, Deepak Dessai and resident editor of The Times of India, K R Sreenivas. The panel of judges comprised of Augie D’Melo, Shridhar Kamat Bambolkar and Fr Bernard Cota. The script of the tiatrs were judged by Fr Kyriel D’Souza and Jose Salvador Fernandes.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Anthony San Fernandes and his group comprising of winners at Herald’s ‘Goencho Avaz’ singing competition entertained the audience.
