PANJIM: Goa Police on Wednesday issued an advisory asking citizens not to fall prey to fictitious calls from persons posing as bank officers.
The advisory comes in the wake of several fake calls on bank-related cases such as seeking account details, and warns against giving details though the caller informs about cards being blocked and seeking bank details to re-activate it. In such cases, police have asked that a complaint be registered with the local cyber crime cell.
Goa Police on several occasions has cautioned the public against falling prey to fictitious offers such as lottery winnings, remittance of cheap funds in foreign currency from abroad by foreign entities, individuals or to Indian residents.
