AMBELIM: Ambelim Sports Club advanced into the final of the Lourdes Soccer tournament after beating Dicarpale SC 10-9 in a nail-biting penalty shootout, at Ambelim ground, on Friday.
Both teams came in with caution in the first half with Dicarpale’s keeper Venson being tested out of the two keepers keeping his side alive in the game.
In the second half, Dicarpale’s players looked well organised with Perryson being the standout performer with his exceptional passing but Ambelim’s defence marshalled by Desmond and Rayan stood like rocks guarding the citadel.
Both the teams tried theuir best to find the match-winner but their strikers fumbled with thw chances that were created.
The game ended goalless at regulation time.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Ambelim SC proved to be the better shooters.
