CALANGUTE: Hosts Bardez Veterans scored a solitary goal victory over Ilhas Veterans to move into the finals of VV Dempo All-Goa Veterans football tournament at Dr Gustavo Monteiro Stadium, Candolim, Saturday.
Both teams coming close to scoring on a couple of occasions but their forwards missed chances. Allwyn Fernandes scored the all-important goal for Bardez in the 28th minute.
Trailing by a goal, Ilhas tried hard to draw level with Pascoal and Seby working overtime but the ever agile Jude Fernandes under the Bardez crossbar kept them at bay, saving couple of tries.
