MARGAO: The Camorlim gram sabha on Sunday adopted a resolution to utilise the Rs one crore grant from the Director of panchayat for a community project in the village.
Members of gram sabha adopted a resolution to purchase a xerox machine for use in panchayat. The meeting also resolved that amount spend for removal of illegal hoardings be recovered from respective companies.
Villagers also expressed their annoyance over the presence of a former talathi in the panchayat office and demanded that the former talathi be not allowed to sit in the panchayat office. Resolution was taken demanding that the trenches and road excavation by the electricity department for laying underground electrical cable in village be immediately attended as the same had been causing hardship to motorists.
The proposed budget for 2014-15 was approved after amendment to increase in allocation for pre-monsoon works and construction of drains also with allotment of Rs 18 lakh for public works development.
