DIG Ravindra Yadav on Sunday evening convened a meeting with Vasco DySP Mahesh Gaonkar and Vasco PI Braz Menezes to assess the investigation process of Vasco Police in the murder case of Naresh Dourado.
It may be recalled that Naresh Dourado (26) from Vasco was brutally murdered by an unknown people in his brother’s flat at Chicalim-Vasco in the wee hours of Monday.
Police is tight lipped on the investigation progress, claming that it could hamper the investigations.
Sources in police claimed that they have got a major lead in the case and they have almost cracked the case up to 60 per cent.
It will be a matter of few more days and they would solve the mystery.
DySP Mahesh Gaonkar said Naresh’s murder is one of the most brutal murders in the history of Goa, as he has not witnessed such brutality in his police career.
The murder case has given sleepless nights for Vasco Police, as they have explored all possible angles last one week and carried out massive man hunt to search Naresh’s vehicle, mobile phone and laptop that went missing after the crime.
On Friday, police found the car of the deceased at Aaradi Band, Taligao.
