CITIZEN EDWIN FERNANDES
Aldona
After months and months of patiently waiting and with the next monsoons round the corner, it is but very sad to point out that the dug-up roads for laying HT-UG cables have been left unattended. In construction methodology, there is something called Planning and Execution Strategy but unfortunately there does not seem to be one.
Roads after roads have been dug, roughly filled with loose mud and stones with no ground presence of either PWD or Elect. Dept. to repair the dug-up roads even after the cable laying been completed (in most of the areas).
We have some stretch of roads which are very critical and need to be backfilled, compacted and tarred/restored. Shown in pics are areas that need immediate action. Aldona roads are very busy, and they cater to commuters from Aldona, Bicholim, Mayem. I recall that the local MLA has been voicing the subject frequently and calling for urgent attention.
We cannot wait for an untoward incident to make headlines. Safe roads are one of those basic facilities that every ordinary citizen needs and ask for and as taxpayers (in whatever manner), he is entitled to same.
Leaving politics aside, request concerned authorities to please expedite fixing these highlighted areas as soon as possible and also, if possible, to conduct a survey of those tight spots which are dug and need urgent attention be in Aldona constituency or any part of Goa.
