PANJIM: Shoan Ganguly and Shrungi Bandekar bagged gold for Goa in the their respective events at the 36th Glenmark sub junior and 46th junior aquatic championship held at Rajkot, on Thursday.
Shoan claimed gold in the 200m butterfly with a timing of 2:09:37 to create a new national record. Shoan was coached by Surajit Ganguly.
Shrungi Bandekar bagged gold in the 200m backstroke event with a timing of 2:24:30 minutes. She was coached by Surajit Ganguly.
Meanwhile, Maya Shanbagh had to settle for bronze in the 3m diving and Megan De Almeida won silver medal in high board diving.
On Wednesday, Shoan Ganguly bagged two gold medals wherein he created national record in the 200m freestyle with a timing of 1:56:43 and in 200m medley. Shrungi Bandekar bagged silver in 200m medley. Megan De Almeida had to settle for silver medal in 3m spring board diving.
The following are other finalists: Sayed Zidane Iqbal (400m freestyle and 200m backstroke), Cynthia Choudhury (1500m freestyle), Sourabhi Naik (200m freestyle) and Sanjana Prabhugoankar (100m backstroke).
