MARGAO: Sanjana Sanjay Velip is poised to become the next Chairperson of the South Goa Zilla Panchayat, as she is the only candidate who filed a nomination before the Chief Executive Officer on Friday.

Chief Executive Officer Gaurish Sakhwalkar has announced that a meeting is scheduled for September 2 to elect the new Chairperson. Given that Sanjana Sanjay Velip, a ZP member representing the Guirdolim constituency, is the sole nominee, she is expected to be officially declared as the new Chairperson at the meeting.
During the nomination process, BJP General Secretary Damu Naik and former Member of Parliament Vinay Tendulkar were present, offering their support.
