PANJIM: The State government, on Tuesday, brought into effect a bureaucratic reshuffle, wherein Chief Secretary IAS Parimal Rai will hold major departments like Home, Vigilance and PWD.
Rai, who was transferred to Goa in December last year, will also hold charge as secretary Personnel, PWD, Transport and Forest.
The reshuffle comes into force with immediate effect as per the order issued by Under Secretary (personnel) Harish Adconkar.
P Krishnamurthy, IAS, will continue to be the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister with additional charge of principal Resident Commissioner, New Delhi.
Secretary to Chief Minister Ashok Kumar will continue to hold charge of Health, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs and is also appointed as nodal officer for ODF and Swatch Bharat Mission.
Secretary to Governor Rupesh Kumar, IAS, will hold charge of Museum, Archives, Archaeology, and Civil Supplies.
Apart from Rai, Daulat Hawaldar (IAS) holds some key departments like finance, mining, Town and Country Planning, Agriculture, tribal welfare, planning, fisheries and Art and Culture.
W V R Murthy (IAS), commissioner and Secretary Co-operation will hold charge of departments like social welfare, civil aviation, protocol, general administration and urban development.
P S Reddy, IAS, secretary Ports will also hold charge as secretary River Navigation, Information and Publicity, Public grievances, NRI affairs, Official Language and Institute of Public Assistance and Provedoria.
Ameya Abhyankar (IAS), who was recently given additional charge as director mines, will continue to be secretary Information technology and chief executive officer of ESG.
Secretary Education Neela Mohanan (IAS) will hold power, non-conventional energy, revenue and labour and employment. Special Secretary to vigilance Govind Jaiswal (IAS) is the secretary for environment, science and technology, factories and boilers and handicrafts.
Secretary WRD IAS Sanjay Gihar has been given additional portfolios like Housing, Panchayat, RDA and member secretary o Goa State Commission for Protection of child rights.
Chokhan Ram Garg (IAS), who was recently posted, is the secretary of Goa Public Service Commission, Women and child development, skill development and law judiciary and legislative affairs.
