The Dindi festivities got underway in the Commercial capital on Sunday.
The festivities were inaugurated at the hands of the Chairman of the Dindi Festival Committee, Chief Minister, Digambar Kamat in the presence of Fatorda MLA Damu Naik, and members of the Hari Mandir committee.
In his brief address, the Chief Minister said the government would provide wholehearted support to the famous festival, especially when it is celebrating its centenary year this year.
While saying that the festivities have coincided with the Children’s Day, Kamat called for greater participation of the people in the Dindi festivities.
The main Dindi festival will be held on November 19 and the festivities will culminate the following day at Hari Mandir.
