MARGAO: The South Goa Zilla Panchayat has tendered 122 works all estimated to cost less than Rs 5 crore so that it avoids e-tendering and could invite open tenders. While the tenders have already been opened the work orders are in the process of being issued.
The total estimated cost of the 122 works is Rs 4,32,39,575 and four works have been re-tendered. While two projects in Barcem constituency and one each in Cola and Usgao Ganjem constituencies have been re-tendered.
While six projects are estimated below Rs 1 lakh, one project in Curti constituency is estimated below Rs 50,000. The two highest estimates were for projects in Betqui Candola constituency where they were touching Rs 5 lakh.
The highest estimate of Rs 4,98,511 was for construction of roadside drain at Devlay Candola in Betqui Candola while the second highest was of Rs. 4,97,318 for construction of a passage from the main road in Bhoma Adcolna panchayat area.
Queula constituency where only two projects were tendered had the lowest estimated amount of Rs 5,38,315. Three other constituencies namely Cortalim, Velim and Xeldem had only two projects tendered.
Interestingly, at Velim the two tendered projects estimate is higher than the estimates of the three projects tendered in Colva constituency. While the estimated works in Colva are Rs 7.76 lakh in Velim the estimates of the two works is Rs 9.77 lakh.
