MAPUSA: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday slammed the BJP government and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza for the failure to start the Mapusa Sewerage Plant despite inordinate delays.
Convenor Rahul Mhambre questioned the BJP and D’Souza as to where the money on this project has been sunk since it is not operational. The party has demanded that D’Souza share a white paper on the project, the status and its funding.
“The residents of Mapusa have been saddled with the white elephant and while the sewage plant lies unfinished the waste is being discharged in the ground water and has turned the Tar River into a gutter,” alleged AAP.
Meanwhile, COVID Warrior Dr Suyog Samuel Arawattigi joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday in the presence of AAP Vice President Valmiki Naik, General Secretary Gerson Gomes and Velim Assembly In-Charge Cruz Silva. Dr Arawattigi is a well known COVID warrior in Velim.
