MARGAO: The Margao Municipal Council in a special meeting resolved to use a 10,000 sq mt of land in Malbhat for a commercial complex of the MMC. The MMC has also discussed the allotment of job of GIS survey for the bidders.
The MMC has decided to make use of the land in Malbhat after the audit cited that the land has been vacant for several years. “The nature of use of the building has not yet been decided but it will be a revenue model for the MMC,” said Chairperson Babita Angle. There are 7-8 houses on this land which the MMC has resolved to rehabilitate and then go ahead to develop the land. The Commercial complex will be developed by the GSUDA after giving a proposal for the same.
The chairperson has also informed that five companies have quoted for the job of GIS Survey and three companies have quoted for the tender. The GIS survey of the ward 14 will be allotted after discussion next week. The chairperson has said that there would be discussions held with civil society members too before finalizing the allotment of job.
