Dona Paula residents oppose mobile tower in school premises

PANJIM: Residents of Dona Paula on Friday opposed installation of a mobile tower proposed to come up in primary school premises at Dona Paula. 

The residents feared severe radiation in the wake of 5G being introduced in the country. They demanded that the tower should be installed away from the residential area.

One of the residents Wency said that the contractors who had come to the school for soil testing had no permissions from concerned authorities. He said that the residents are opposed to the mobile tower fearing health issues. 

The school authorities had also written to its department requesting not to install the tower in the school compound.
