Parag Joshi’s day begins at 6.30 these days and as he put it with some consideration to his age he now goes to the gym at 8 O’clock. In year gone by he would off to the squash courts in the morning but not anymore. Like a lot of people, there is a ying and a yang in him. His taste in music is that of an aesthete. He loves listening to Pandit Jasraj, Bhimsen Joshi and the like. However when it come to watching movie he prefers action movies, movies without any tension as he puts it. Singam is a favourite. He also loves watching old movies that star Raj Kapoor because of the beautiful songs.
With regards to reading he does not have the time to read books but he peruses the newspapers and news magazines. With regards food, he is a true blue goan, fish curry rice is a favourite, though he likes Thai food and Indian vegetarian food. However at the end of the day fish curry rice is a favourite. The restaurant in the Mandovi remains a favourite. Outside Goa, he enjoys tasting the fare at the Mainland China in Pune.
His choice of destinations for holidays remains eclectic. Recently he and the wife visited Iceland and enjoyed the northern lights, the glaciers and the fjords. The background research, Parag says is all done by the wife. Last year the family drove from Munich to Switzerland, visited vineyards and dropped the car off eventually in Paris.
He loves driving but has reduced it due to the crazy traffic on the roads of Goa. He loves working on his murals and in five years will be spending all his time working on them.
