Herald: What is your field of specialty?
Agraj Agranayak: The main forte of the business is website development, e – commerce setups and software development. We also develop hybrid mobile applications which are operable on different mobile platforms. We specialise in conceptualising and developing websites and software applications for businesses to support their front end or back end operations.
Herald: How does your company help Goans, specially start-ups?
AA: Our clients in Goa, have been able to make their businesses run more efficiently by using our services. We hire Goan developers, hire interns and give them an opportunity to work on various projects with the right guidance because we believe that it is necessary to hone the skills of and sharpen young minds and direct them in the right way towards achieving professional excellence. We have worked with many different business verticals like retail industries, distribution network, manufacturing industries, human resources and education institutes which have directly and indirectly benefitted Goans.
Herald: Who are your major customers?
AA:Our customers are spread across Goa in different industry verticals, be it manufacturing, retail, jewellery, etc. Some of our noteworthy clients are IFFI Goa, BIG G, Goa Chronicle and Noronha Group.
Herald: What issues did you have to face when you thought of launching this company? Any help from government /CIBA?
AA: We were at our nascent stage we were virtually clueless. There wasn’t much clarity about the procedure or process of how to go about registering your firm and with which body. Apart from that, we came across a few surprises when learning about the market and over time that has been an absolutely enriching experience.
Herald: What made you work as an entrepreneur in Goa?
AA: I have been an optimist and an opportunist ever since my childhood. To change a career path is a major decision to be taken at any point in your life. After having worked in Pune with an MNC (Convergys) for over a year, I was looking out for a bigger challenge. So when I saw the opportunity to start my own enterprise, I thought of taking that plunge.
Herald: How do you see the Goan software market? Is there a demand for software in Goa?
AA: Wherever there is any kind of business happening, for that geography to attain a sustainable growth, the involvement of technology is extremely vital. Decisions are taken with the help of the right data. Softwares are essential to provide you with accurate, relevant and precise data which speeds up your decision making process. And hence the demand for softwares is eternal.
Herald: Where do you see yourself and your company in next five years from now? Is there anything coming up from Imagine Works for the Goan Businessman?
AA:I aspire to see Imagine Works become the oxygen of at least 1000 different businesses. We will be soon launching our in-house product ‘OneRetail’. This will be a one of a kind product for the retail business owners, accessible anytime over the Internet by means of a desktop, laptop, tablet or a mobile phone. With ‘OneRetail’ we aim to revolutionize the way businesses are managed, and help them flourish.
