The 1984 Batch
of Model English High School, Margao organised a fet-together of ex-students and teachers at
BPS Club, Margao and felicitated all the teachers who had taught them during
their school days.
The event received
overwhelming response from the ex-students who travelled all the way from
Melbourne, Manila, Muscat, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Bengaluru, Belgaum besides the
locals. Twenty teachers and one office staff attended the function.
Ex Headmasters
Damodar Kavlekar, Anant Kavlekar, Purxotama Naik & Revati Sirdessai Kane
along with Suresh Tanawade, Sarita Carvalho, Teresa Barreto, Sarita Dessai,
Meenakxi Kanji, Eulanda Viera, Smita Verenkar, Prafullata Naik, Yashashri
Vaidya Bhandiye, Subhash Dessai, Shivaling Chougule, Manjula Sheldenkar Keni,
Sunanda Nadkarni, Shirish Khandeparkar, Tony Rebello, Netty Dsouza and office
staff Suresh Kankonkar who were present were felicitated with Memento and Gift
by the ex-students of 1984 batch.
All the teachers
blessed the students and said that it was a lifetime memorable event for them
and expressed gratitude towards all students for remembering them.
The teachers also
suggested to the students to initiate some social service activity like
adopting a needy school child and support for education etc
Ex Headmaster Anant
Kavlekar gifted his own handmade Japanese Paper Fans to all the students which
were received by Sukhada Bhatikar Thakur.
The idea to hold the
re-union get-together was initiated by Ishwardas Dessai, while ex-students
Vishal Pai Cacode, Tulsidas Korgaonkar, Dr. Edgar Vaz, Manoj Kesarkar,
Kashinath Nayak, Mandakini Virdikar Karapurkar, Mansingh Khorate, Adesh
Karwarkar, Satish Mungarwadi, Prasanna Sheldenkar and Sachin Singabal were part
of the Organising Committee.
The
event concluded with lunch and variety entertainment programme presented by the
students.
