It was a joyous occasion for the parishioners of St Michael Church, Taleigão, as 49 children received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. Parish priest, Fr Cipriano da Silva, was the main celebrant for the Eucharist celebration. The theme for the mass was ‘Jezu, mhozo mogall ixtt/ Jesus is my beloved friend’.
In his homily, he exhorted the recipients of the First Holy Communion to obey their parents, pray, and attend mass every day. He also said the children should grow not only in age but also in grace and wisdom. The concelebrant for the mass was Fr Joefil Dias and Fr Dominic. The church choir sang hymns through their melodious voices in harmony.
At the end of the Eucharist celebration, certificates and tokens were presented to the children. It was followed by cutting of the First Holy Communion cake.
