Our euphoria
has reached its zenith, as we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our esteemed institution. It
all began humbly in the year ‘1969, when a few like-minded people decided to
usher in a change in education by offering a pedagogy that did away with rote
learning and promoted holistic development of a child. Today, Manovikas stands
tall in its 50th Year.
Manovikas has always
been a great protagonist of Konkani. In a bid to land its precious support in
upholding the status of Konkani, management of Manovikas made an earnest effort
of introducing the state level Street play competition in the year 2012, thus
providing a platform to the young performers to express their views and redress
the social problems prevailing in the society. Ever since then our esteemed
institution has triumphantly hosted the All Goa Street Play Competitions for
five consecutive years. Today we are on the threshold of hosting, the 6th All
Goa Street-Play Competition at our prestigious school premises, on September 28th
, 2018.
The 6th All Goa
Street-play Competition will be graced by eminent personalities of Konkani
theatre, cinema and journalism, Mr. Sandesh Prabhudesai and Mrs. Prashanti
Talpankar, as reverent Chief guests.
Resourceful and
eminent playwrights and theatre personas Mr. Hemant Aiyya, Mr. Jayesh Arjun
Raut and Mr. Sharendra Naik will be present at the event as honorable judges.
We are overwhelmed by
the tremendous response and enthusiasm shown by the schools across the State of
Goa. In this eventful year, 17 schools will be participating to make an earnest
effort to portray contemporary issues under the topics, “ Vruddhashramchi
vaat – Kharech Ghaat?, Goemkara jago ja, Bhurgepan naka re deva”.
