He is now working on his second album that he intends to launch next month. An album that encapsulates his views on long distance relationships. A very tricky subject, one will have to admit. Rohit Almeida has displayed his versatility in his first album “Fairytale” and much is expected from the album which will feature around eight songs. It will also feature a song about the coronavirus which has put a stop to life as everyone knows it.
Rohit Almeida who flirted with football, chess and the piano before settling with the guitar has travelled quite the road. The son of Derek and Cheryl completed his BBA and has spent the last few years as a musician. The lockdown due to Covid 19 has touched him just like it has every other person. He recently uploaded two covers to remind people he was still around. Rohit said “I had uploaded my debut album three years ago and am now working on a new song about the lockdown. There was a great deal of confusion and tension when the lockdown was imposed, I decided to write a song about it”.
He has already composed seven songs and intends to complete two more songs in the next week. The music has been composed and the lyrics will be added in a week. He talks about long term relationships and he admitted this was based on personal experience. Rohit said “I take an idea and build a story around it to present my point. I will launch the album sometime next month. The album will be available on platforms as diverse as Spotify, Appleplay and Google”.
A full-time musician, he intends to conduct shows around the state to popularise the album. Rohit said he hoped people would come forward and organise shows in cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi. A trained sound engineer who learned his skills in Bengaluru, Rohit hopes to remaster his first album. He also sings songs in Hindi which he started in Bengaluru. Rohit said “ I used to sing in various pubs and restaurants with various artists and honed my skills in Hindi”.
Rohit hopes to carve a unique niche in the large entertainment market in the state as well as in the country.
