A man on the move… again

Glenn Perry is improving steadfastly, following a cerebral stroke on August 10, 2019 and has now given himself the task of attempting a world challenge. He intends on performing a unique concert in Goa on August 31, 2019 at the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), Panjim. He plans on performing 125 concerts around the world to raise awareness about brain strokes. The concert is titled Brain Stroke Challenge 125.

Glenn Perry intends to perform 125
shows to raise awareness about brain strokes following his own experience after
enduring a stroke whilst in Goa

Glenn had come over to Goa to perform a concert
dedicated to commemorate the memory of his famous father, Chris Perry. Glenn
seemed determined to beat this latest medical setback. He said, “Everyone has
been dissuading me against performing on August 31 but I am nothing without my
music. I don’t care much for food but without music, I will not survive. People
suggested that I wait for three months before I physically exert myself; I told
them it would be easier if they purchased a coffin for me because I would not
survive that long without music.”
The show on August 31 will comprise Indian
classical singers and instruments like tabla and the sitar, in addition to the
guitar. It will be a show that will showcase Indian classical music and the
blues. The musicians, Glenn said, were all from temples in Goa. They, he said,
were bhajan singers and he was thrilled with the quality of musicians he has
with him for the show.
The show will be a demanding experience for
Glenn because his left side is paralysed and he said he is prepared to face the
consequences. The doctors along with other medical facilities will be present
at the show to handle any emergency. To heal himself, Glenn has been using
alternative therapies called Brain power, Mind control and Brain stimulation.
He said his main motivation was to raise awareness that if one had a brain
stroke it was not the end of the world. Glenn said, “I now realise that I had
overworked myself; I thought I was invulnerable but the stroke proved me
wrong.”
For someone who did not go to doctors, the
experience of receiving over 120 injections and 200 tablets was an eye-opener.
“After the stroke I had no control over myself. This show is important as it
proves that I am winning as I am performing a concert on August 31,” he added.
Speaking about the problems of people entering
his home in Goa, he said that the problem had been sorted out and now he had
decided to end it all by putting up both the houses for sale. The ancestral
home however will remain with the family.
He ended by saying that the brain is the centre
of the entire operation and it needed exercise, which he was now indulging in
and which he would continue to do even after he returned to New York, which he
intended to do immediately after the show.
