Access to greater knowledge, in my opinion, is never harmful. I
believe that this choice will allow students to consider alternative options at
the same time. After a given period of time, many students get dissatisfied
with their career path and wish to alter it. This was problematic in certain
circumstances because their qualifications were different, but the conflict
will now be resolved. In addition, I would personally also want to pursue
another degree simultaneously with the one I am currently enrolled for. Hence,
this is a wise decision made by the UGC.

I feel pursuing two courses at the same time won’t help us to
concentrate on the thing we do and it will be difficult to handle the expenses
of both the courses. With my studies, I also work and work for more than 4 NGOs
and also pursue this course, I don’t get time for myself. Because when a course
is chosen, it has so many aspects to uncover, and the greater reason why I am
not in favor of such a dual degree program is that. as a student, one wouldn’t
be able to master the course due to divided attention to two subjects. Hence
exercising would become intensely difficult and also I don’t think many of the
students will be in favour of this as it can create pressure in our minds.

I’m sure the UGC had the best intentions with this approach but
however it comes with advantages as well as disadvantages. First off, you will
have a greater scope of having the understanding of both the majors but at the
same time the workload is going to be vast causing the students to go under a
lot of stress. But in my opinion, having the entire knowledge of one particular
subject and not being confused with both the majors will act as a major factor
in the lives of the student as studying both the majors will be taxing but
focusing on just one major will make it interesting as they will be giving
their entire attention to that particular major and not dividing their
attention.

It would be great to pursue a dual degree simultaneously as it
would be very easy for students to apply for a job at a much earlier time
period. This would in-turn help the students gain much needed experience which
is of utmost priority for a shot at the big stage.

Well I know for one that I’ll not be that interested in pursuing
a twin degree program. A degree program requires your complete focus and
attention; you can’t have that divided and do two of them simultaneously. I
would do it one at a time.

undertake twin degree programs simultaneously is great news for those students
who want to study different things, in this way, students’ years are not wasted
and they can study without thinking about the years they are going to waste.

find it tough after diverting my focus, to get back on track to my current
degree in Mass Communication. I don’t think dual degree programs would be
viable for anyone who isn’t a gifted prodigy.
