4th of September, 2021 marked the First Death Anniversary of my mother Maria Simplicia Bocarro. To commemorate her life, her daughter, Sr. Marisa A.C. (Olivia Maxie Bocarro), published her first book,” Mojea Mogachi Mai” (MY BELOVED MOTHER) which is an emotional story on the life of her mother who was loved and cherished by her three children. The book leaves the reader with a heart full of love and hope and shows how one should take care of aging parents. The 112 pages of this book also contain exclusive photographs from the Bocarro family album.
The book was released on Saturday, 4th September, 2021 at 10.00 a.m. in St. Thomas Parish Hall, Aldona by Fr. Ashley Alphonso (Spiritual Director, Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol, Rachol, Goa), in the midst of distinguished guests like Fr. Pio Almeida (Parish Priest, Our Lady of Rosary Church, Caranzalem, Goa), Dr.Fr. Fredrick Rodrigues SFX (Vice- Principal, Fr. Agnel College, Pilar and Local Superior, Fr. Agnel Local House, Pilar, Goa) and Mr. Glenn Souza Ticlo (MLA, Aldona Constituency) as well as family, neighbours and friends.
The purpose of writing this book is to bring forth before the people the upbringing of a mother who brought up her children with so much of dedication and love. She implanted the seed of my vocation and this in turn helped me to discern and to follow Religious life and thus energized me to have great concern for older people wherever I live and work.
The readers will be inspired to read the life of the caring ways of my mother. My topics speak to the heart and soul and help to celebrate both the human and the divine in our mother. This book will help you to learn how to love and to care for your mother and how to talk to your mother, woman to woman, about the issues of life and death or any topic under the sun. This book is an unshakeable mother daughter love which will sweep you away until the very last pages. I hope and pray that there may be many more writers who will take time off to write something that inspires others in the years to come.
Cherish every page as you read the story of my mama, Maria Simplicia Bocarro.
