Spice Goa is a
pretty well known name when it
comes to authentic Goan food and has been a favourite with both locals and the
tourists for years.
Expanding its wings, Spice Goa recently opened a new outlet in
Verem, which brings in a breath of fresh air.
The ambiance itself is very inviting; the décor of the Goan room
next to the outdoor bar is a highlight; it gives a very rustic and old world
charm to the place. The muddy walls help accentuate the various articles put
up.
The restaurant is spread across two floors and has enough
seating space, making it perfect for both intimate and larger family or friends
groups; the upper floor can also double up as a private function space, need
be.
Coming to food, Goan food is something that Spice Goa already
resonates with, but what’s commendable is the fact that they have marvelled in
the North Indian and Oriental cuisine as well.
Keeping in mind the needs of the younger generation, these new
additions in the menu are definitely worth a try.
Their tandoori items
should be on your list for sure and it will be a delightful affair if you love
seafood; in case you don’t, you need not worry, because their chicken, mutton
and even veg kebabs are equally delicious. But yes, seafood is a plus all the
way; the huge variety of fish, prawns, crabs, lobsters will make you drool and
more often than not, leave you confused on what to try and what to leave.
Our recommendations
would include, banana prawns, koliwada prawns, peri-peri chicken kebabs, fish
tikka, vade chicken sukha and Bangkok chicken for starters. Each and every item
was delectable.
The fish thali during
lunch hours is a sure shot hit, but if you want to satiate your cravings for
some North Indian gravies, try the Chicken Bukhara or the Butter Chicken and
you will surely feel as if you are eating in some Delhi restaurant and not Goa.
The oriental section is alluring as well, with a mix of some Thai and Chinese
dishes.
Overall,
whether you have been to Spice Goa earlier or not should not influence your
decision of visiting it again. If you have, then it warrants another of many
visits and if you haven’t yet, you should go and indulge in a delicious foodie
experience.
