A ‘Saxtikaar’ delight!

Following the success of its previous pop up bazaars, Popsicle Inc. is back with an event that draws in large numbers of people from not just Salcete but the rest of the state as well. Providing a platform for local entrepreneurs and artistes to showcase their talent, Social Saxtikaar - A Pop Up Bazaar will be held this Sunday

 South Goa,
especially Salcete, has harboured a craving for
an all encompassing community event for
quite some time. Earlier, the events in the south were few and far between
hence people would usually travel to the north. But all this changed a couple
of years ago, when a group of young friends got together with a stroke of ingenuity
that get the ball rolling for similar events in the south and across Goa after
the popularity of its debut edition.

Not only did they fill the vacuum then, they even presented an
opportunity and a platform for artistes and people with fantastic skills to
showcase their talents. With some good music, camaraderie and a place where
everyone usually knows everyone, it was no surprise that Saxtikaars kept coming
back for this event, every year since, with footfalls of over 2,500.

And Popsicle Inc. is back with its latest pop up.

“Support Saxti! Gather your friends and family to
experience Popsicle Inc.’s latest pop up with a kick! A treasure trove of
culinary experiences that will entice your senses, cocktails galore and stalls
showcasing local food and drink producers;paired with the live bands, shopping
and a special giveaway prize! This all day affair is one you just can’t miss
out on,” announces the group.

“Popsicle
Inc. has been organising pop up bazaars since the summer of 2016. They had
started off small, as a passion, but are now a well-recognised pop up bazaar
event in the vicinity. They cater to all people interested in displaying/selling
their product or services, especially entrepreneurs,” says organiser Anushka
Rodrigues.

The
upcoming pop up bazaar is called Social Saxtikaar, a pop up bazaar with all
things Goan. Saxti producers of food and drink as well as home grown talent
like artistes, bakers and entrepreneurs are participating this year,” she adds.

The myriad of stalls will include
clothes, bags, shoes, home décor, puppets, accessories, locally made honey,
digital mirror photo booth and a caricature stall, among others.

There will also be a platform to
promote various cuisines and liquor entrepreneurs, most of them from the
Salcete, tying with their ‘Support Saxti’ idea.

The phrase ‘ shop local, buy local ,
eat local’ has been a major chord that has driven traffic to similar events in
the south.

They will also have a ‘Brainboozled’
quiz session (smartphone play app) with an exciting prize apart from spot
prizes that will be up for grabs throughout the day.

A day of fun is incomplete without
music and Neville & Rousseau in the evening followed bythe Band Clynton and
the Wizards (Clynton of the Kingfisher Voice of Goa fame) are taking care of
that.

The biggest draw, quite literally,
the Lucky Draw Prize that will be open for bidding.

The event is
on November 4, 2018 from 11am to 11pm at Green Amaze, Gogol, Margao. Entry is
free and the event is open to all.
