A new EDM festival has been added to Goa’s
party calendar. Treading on a path less travelled, Beats per Minute, an event
company is organising an EDM festival in the summer, contrary to most EDM
festivals which occur during the peak tourist season in Goa. Summatronic,
partnered by Goa Timeline is looking to enthrall EDM lovers not only from Goa
but from across India. The audience will experience international DJs perform
alongside well known talent from across India at this music festival that is
scheduled to take place at Club Nyex in Anjuna.
Matthias Richter, better known as Tujamo
will be delivering his debut performance in Goa. This German electro-house
music producer, who along with Plastik Funk and Sneakbo released the single
‘Dr. Who!’, which peaked at number 21 on the UK Singles Chart, has in the past
performed with industry biggies like Steve Aoki and Chris Lake to create
‘Boneless’, which charted at number 49 on the German Singles Chart and number
42 on the Austrian Singles Chart. Tujamo will be joined by other international
DJs such as New ID, Marcus Schossow and Felix:Leiter and Indian DJs like
AceAxe, Swap, Dash and Garth Adam.
It is interesting to note that Summatronic
will be clashing with Vengaboys’ debut live performance in Goa. When asked if
this is going to deter some from attending Summatronic, Bryan Kheyar,
proprietor, Beats per Minute, says, “If my show had not been there, I would
have attended the Vengaboys event too. I wouldn’t say that it is clashing with
us, merely because that is a different genre of music. We have EDM festivals
happening in Goa only during the season. Locally, there are a few festivals
that have been happening in Goa but none of them have gone pan India. We have
gone pan India with our marketing. We want India to know that there is a summer
festival happening for them.”
The organisers are planning to make this
property a pan-Indian event and will promote Goan talent at their national
gigs. Their vision is to showcase India as an ideal platform to host
international concerts. While Summatronic will continue to evolve into a larger
brand, the company will host smaller parties and will look to host live
concerts in the future.
