A tale full of twists and turns

The story revolves around Ronny (Rons), his younger brother Trevor (Elias) and spinster sister Melba (Priscila). While caring for his sister, Trevor is equally thoughtful towards his blind brother Ronny and has a caretaker Remmy (Remmy) to cater to all his needs. On receiving the news that he is blessed with another son instead of a daughter, Trevor invites his lawyer, Adv Souza (Xavier de Maina) to divide the property among his two sons. On inquiry about the unexpected decision, in a flashback the tale of two brothers is narrated with various twists, turns and the climax. On one hand, while Trevor is disgusted due to unemployment despite being a graduate, Ronny returns from abroad with the news that he is going to settle in life. He welcomes his fiancée, Alisha (Tracy) to his siblings. After Ronny returns to Dubai for service, on the sly Alisha gets back to her ex-lover Ajay (Ajay Phadte). Trevor is shocked when he spots his sister-in-law with Ajay in the garden and shares the news with his sister.

The news about his wife’s extra-marital affair reaches Ronny, but he unwilling to believe it, doubting it could only be a sign of jealousy among his siblings. Truth unfolds when he decides to return and investigate personally. What is its outcome? Will Ronny-Alisha relationship last or hit the rocks?

Rons Tavares’ first tiatr ‘Bhav Bhav’ is a tale of two siblings. Misunderstanding, doubts, infidelity are some of the highlights in the drama. But it has a happy ending, prompting all the siblings in the families to follow the same in reality.

But as far as casting is concerned, Rons looks much older to Tracy to be projected as husband and wife. Instead, an inter-change with Priscila as Rons’ spouse and Tracy as the sibling would be acceptable. Elias and Priscila as siblings have played their respective roles well. Ajay as villain is impressive. Xavier as a lawyer looks comfortable in his character.

In the comic acts, comedian Dominic, Lino and Laneesa fail to tickle the funny bone of the audience and produce the required laughter riot.

With many children introduced on stage, there are a good number of songs which are pleasing to the ears and carry a message or two. Apart from the songs by Leslie, Rons, Normandez, Emiliano and Elias, a couple of songs by Savannah, Amriz/Lanessa, Sonali and the four kids, Peter/Amriz are worth listening to and deserve appreciation. A duet by Xavier/Priscila and a quartet by Leslie, Lino, Rons and Dominic receive encores. Music by new musicians off-stage could have been more punchy and vibrant.

The new stage sets by Pedro Santan Rodrigues are appealing. A P Rojols has handled the lights, but multi-coloured lights for a song by the kids could have been avoided.
