True to its
name, Lazy Goose is a place that offers completely relaxed vibes. Situated on the banks of Nerul river,
it is a chilled place that is both vibrant and serene at the same time.
Coming to food, Chef Rohan has curated the menu in a way that
suits the palates of both tourists and locals. It’s comfort food for most, with
obviously some personal touches and twists by the chef.
The Cheese Fondue served with Garlic Bread Bites and Potato
Wedges is definitely a must-have. The warm cheese almost melts in the mouth and
both wedges and garlic bread provide the needed base to this amazing dish.
Also, this is one dish that you can keep lingering on for long hours, every few
minutes your hand will automatically find a potato wedge or a garlic bread
piece to dip into the beautiful cheese, close your eyes and enjoy a flavourful
bite of this deadly combo. A word of caution, you may be tempted to make some
orgasmic sounds while eating this piece of heaven, but try and control yourself
😉
The Raw Papaya and Tender Coconut Salad is another flavourful
creation that you would love. Thin slices of raw papaya, tender coconut with
some glass noodles, cherry tomatoes and loads of greens tossed in a Thai
dressing, this salad has subtle flavours and is very soothing on the tongue.
You can also try the Thai BBQ Chicken Skewers. These pan-grilled
chunks of chicken cooked in BBQ sauce are served with a spicy peanut sauce and
make for a perfect starter.
On chef’s recommendation, we also tried a small portion of
Yellow Corn Tacos stuffed with Goan Sausages. It was a true delight and a
perfect fusion creation that gives you best of both, global and local flavours.
Packed with live performances regularly, Lazy Goose never has a
dull moment. Even though it has a laidback feel, it’s always lively and
happening.
For cocktails, we
relied completely on the ever so hospitable staff of Lazy Goose and I think
they brought the best of the drinks possible. Lemongrass and Ginger Martini,
the Lazy Goose Sling and Spicy Guava Margarita, we loved them all.
If
you haven’t been to this old favourite yet, you surely must, and if you already
have, its time you visit them again!
