The American elections were a piece of theatre that had few rivals around the world. Sorry, let us amend that, in most parts of the world. But this is India and more specifically this in Goa. The rhythms and the drama that take place here can be even more entertaining and can stop traffic. However there still quite a few who watched it great interest.
Timothy Lobo a businessman laughed aloud and said he had watched it, sitting in his bedroom. A keen follower of football, he has been following the fortunes of Tottenham Hotspur with mixed emotions. They may be winning but it still does not seem to mean much to him. He said “The US elections have been more exciting than watching my favourite football team play. All the drama and spice and twists and turns every other hour. I am still watching it.”
Jack Sukhija felt it was undoubtedly the greatest show on earth and it was a movie in real life. He said “You have a hustler versus a good decent man who for once will prove that good people can make it to the top. It has been way too much drama; if you ask me, we would like some plain sailing please”.
Kirit Maganlal prominent retailer and a man with diverse interests laughed and said the elections had everything going for it. He said “It had the masala of a Bollywood movie, the suspense of Hollywood and all the excitement of a cricket match”. Going into greater detail he said the complexity of the American elections was due to a constitutional quagmire where as in India he laughed and said it was due to the inherent qualities of the politician.
Mangirish Salelkar the CEO of a software company in Goa said “For the first time, the elections have turned out to be so dramatic. Smart Biden has given a good fight to the Mighty Trump, as we see some of the major states have now gone in favour of Democratic Party. We can see a new wave of politics, I hope the results will be seen in positive direction and favour of India’s benefit.
There is something always entertaining that is taking place around the corner. This drama caught the attention of the entire world and everyone was riveted. Now everyone will wait for the next piece of action to unfold.
