Mohammed Rafi
is considered to be one of the greatest playback singerS in the history of Bollywood. In the
four decades that he was active, he sang for most of the top male actors. In
his career spanning 36 years from his first song‘Hindustan ke hain hum’ from
the film ‘Pehle Aap’ (1944) up to his last song,‘Shaam phir kyun udaas hai
dost’from the film, ‘Aas Paas’(1980), Mohammed Rafi has sang countless songs in
numerous languages, which ranged from classical numbers to patriotic numbers,
qawwalis to ghazals and nazms to bhajans.
Even after 38 years since Rafi passed away, his songs continue
to be admired and attended by millions of listeners binding them in melodious
bondage. To pay tribute to this legend, Hotel Fidalgo has been hosting this
event every year, since 2010. And this year too, they will be hosting this
event with a lot of pomp as renowned singers Mehmood Hassan and Chetana Sahane,
both from Baroda, and the anchor, RK, from Mumbai, will entertain the audience
till the show ends.
Mehmood Hassan, 48, has been singing Mohammed Rafi songs for the
last 26 years and has worked with renowned music directors like Naushad,
Ravindra Jain , Ismail Darbar and many more. Chetana Sahane also has been
singing Lata Mangeshkar’s songs for thelast 20 years. This year, the show will be
hosted by renowned anchor RK from Mumbai who is a versatile singer himself, who
can can mimic in 50 Bollywood voices and is also a stand-up comedian.
