Coastal Goa is famous for its sun, sand and sea. But it’s not just the sea that
offers its bounty; the rivers too are a great draw for hobby fishing. As the
season changes in Goa, from monsoons to winter, a variety of fish species
inundate the Mandovi river, offering anglers a great opportunity to get lucky
with their lines. Also, various health concerns of late have led to many people
opting to catch their own fish rather than relying on the market stock, thereby
adding to the number of anglers. Offering these aglers the opportunity to test
their skills, the United Friends Panjim is organising its 12th Annual All Goa
Fishing Competition on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 10 am onwards at the
Captain of Ports, Jetty, Panjim. Cash prizes of Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000
will be awarded to first, second and third place respectively.
Join
in the fanfare and celebrations and try your luck in nabbing the catch of the
day. Participants have to carry their own fishing equipment (rod, lines and
bait).
