The year 2014 started with a bang for this
Delhi-based Chartered Accountant whose passion for spinning his magic at the DJ
console has earned him more recognition and pleasure than the balance sheets of
his clients. Apart from being invited to internationally renowned music
festivals such as Sunburn, Sartek has been signed by one of the most
prestigious record labels in the world – Guru recordings, spearheaded by French
electro stalwart Gregori Klossman.
Sartek’s musical journey began when his
debut track gained him international acclaim. He was then signed by one the
biggest dance music labels in the world and eventually gigs started pouring in
from across the country. Sartek has had the fortune of opening for legends like
Rank1, First State and Max Vangelli quite early in his musical career. Things
started getting serious when he bagged the honour of performing the opening act
for Steve Aoki. Playing alongside artists Sick Individuals, Fedde Le Grand,
Paul Van Dyk, Quintino, Ummet Ozcan, Showtek and Andrew Rayel, he learned the
essential tricks required to rock dance floors across the globe.
Sartek tasted success like never before when
he released his track, ‘Dopamine’, in November this year. The track received rave reviews worldwide and
was ranked No. 74 on the Beatport Top 100 Electro house charts. The mammoth
success that the track gained globally was then followed up by stalwarts like
Sander Van Doorn, Chuckie, Bassjackers, Sebastian Bennet, Gregori Klossman and
others who played ‘Dopamine’ on their radio shows and sets across the world.
This also resulted in Sartek being endorsed by none other than former world
number one DJ David Guetta on his radio show DJ Mix to over 30 million
listeners worldwide. This support propelled Sartek into a league with
achievements surpassing all other Indian DJs and electronic producers from the
country.
Ask Sartek about his set at Sunburn Goa
2014 and the enthusiastic DJ says that he didn’t have to modify his set based
on the artist playing prior to him at Sunburn this year. Sartek says “I have
made lots of crazy mash-ups and edits exclusively for the festival! I have
three releases out already and this is going to be a little different from what
the audience has heard. I hear ‘Dopamine’ is quite famous amongst the Goans so
that’s definitely going to be ‘the anthem’! Also, I’m trying my best to finish
my new single so I can road-test it at Sunburn.” Sartek signs off by saying,
“At Sunburn, I have a main festival slot so I want the audience to get a taste
of the signature Sartek sound.”
