Group’s Goa Food and Music Festival, a three-day-long
festival that is being held at Campal Parade Ground, ends today.
In
its second year, the event packed a lot of fire power on its first
two days, apart from soulful music and lip smackin’ food . Day two
saw a host of performers take to the stage to pick things up from
where day one left things off. The response at the end of day one was
overwhelming, with many lauding one of the highlights of the
festival: a tribute to the great Alfred Rose, presented by Rita Rose
with Englebert Rose live! The tribute to Goa’s Melody King, also
called The Man with the Golden Voice by the HMV recording company was
heart-rending and truly remarkable.
Today,
the last day of the event will feature a plethora of acts that
include performances by Anselm Fernandes, Frazier, Aleta Gonsalves,
Pearl, True Blue, Media Waves, Divya Naik, Vito, A-Unit and Ciloni Da
Costa.
The
event that begins at 6pm and ends at 10 pm is being organised in
keeping with the tag-line ‘Let’s Celebrate’. One must ask, this
is Goa, did anyone expect anything else?
