Gulatotsav is a festival connected with the Shigmo festival of Goa and people from all over the state celebrated it fervently at the Shri Damodar Temple of Zambaulim. Devotees paid their respect to Lord Damodar, popularly known as Dambab; by offering Gulal to Lord Damodar and then exchanging the pink hued powder with each other. Lord Damodar is the patron deity of the people of Margao. By the end of the celebration, everyone participating in the festivity is coloured in Gulal, irrespective of their age, caste or creed.
