Let the magic of the movies captivate you this monsoon as the Goa Marathi Film Festival is back for
the 11th edition. After completing an exciting 10th anniversary last year, the
festival is all set to bring in showers of fun and excitement on 8th , 9th and
10th June 2018 at Kala Academy, Maquinez Palace and Inox and “1930”, Vasco.
Film aficionados from Goa and the neighbouring states are in for
a treat with a remarkable selection of inspiring films, tributes to industry
stalwarts, educational workshops, interactive sessions, star studded premieres,
theatrical performances, noteworthy celebrity appearances and the red carpet
experience.
The festival will open with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony
followed by an entertainment programme. Popular Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit
Nene has been invited to grace the occasion as Chief Guest. The world premiere
of the film“Welcome Home” by national award winning director duo Sumitra Bhave
and Sunil Sukhtankar will take place after the formal inaugural function.
Films like Pimpal (Dir: Gajendra Ahire),Palashichi Peti (Dir :
Dhondiba Karande), Idak (Dir: Dipak Gawade), Satyajit Ray – Life and Work (Dir
:Vishal Haldankar) Gulab Jam (Dir: Sachin Kundalkar),Aamhi Doghi (Pratima
Joshi), Nude (Dir: Ravi Jadhav) , Kaccha Limboo(Dir : Prasad Oak), Baban (Dir
:Bhaurao Karhade), Lathe Joshi (Dir :Mangesh Joshi) , Rananghan (Dir: Rakesh
Sarang), Bucket List (Dir : Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar), Redu (Dir : Sagar
Vanjari) , Ziprya (Dir: Kedar Vaidya),Whats Up Lagna (Dir : Vishwas Joshi), and
Juze (Konkani Film- Dir Miransha Naik) will also be screened during the
festival while Subodh Bhave’s “Pushpak Viman” will be the closing film.
This year, popular Goan songstress Lorna will be the recipient
of the prestigious Krutadnyata Puraskar award.
The Marathi Film fraternity is all set to visit the state for
the 11th edition of the film festival and in the past, popular personalities
such as VikramGokhale, Amol Palekar, Nana Patekar, Milind Soman, Shreyas
Talpade, Mahesh Manjrekar, Ravi Jadhav, Sachin Khedekar, Varsha Usgaonkar and
many others have graced the festival with their presence.
The festival has received overwhelming support from the Marathi
Film Fraternity and actors, producers, directors. The festivalprides itself on
introducing quality Marathi films that are critically acclaimed and
commercially successful. From inspiring storylines on untouched subjects to
stellar performances, the Goa Marathi Film Festival truly presents a unique

The festival is organized by Vinsan World in association with
Kala Academy who has extended their support to the festival as Venue
Partner.IFB is the title sponsor for the 11th edition of the festival and
Planet Marathi is the exclusive digital and broadcast partner. Planet Marathi
which was launched in 2017 will have a special segment hosted by celebrity
anchor Amit Bhandari. Planet Marathi will also conduct a panel discussion,
setup an activity booth and live stream the festival on its platform.
A special screening will also be organized at Vasco’s popular
movie theatre 1930.
The Goa Marathi Film Festival has a widespread reach and is one
