The mad ad people are in Goa again! Goafest is back with its 2016 edition and the three-day festival has some of the biggest names from the world of film, media, marketing and business who will engage in conversations and exchange ideas to present and explore turnkey global trends. This year’s speakers’ line-up at Goafest is set provide an enriching experience by emerging as a great melting pot of ideas and vision. Presented by the Advertising Club and Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI), the Goafest ABBYs 2016 will once again see the entire advertising and marketing community join the celebrations in Goa from April 7, 2016 to April 9, 2016 at Grand Hyatt Goa in Bambolim.
Today on Day 2 of the fest, veteran journalist Rajdeep Sardesai will be seen in conversation with Honourable Deshamanya Arjuna Ranatunga, Minister of Ports and Shipping and Former Sri Lankan cricket captain, followed by popular film director Karan Johar in conversation with R Balki – film director, screenwriter, producer and Chairman of Mullen Lowe Lintas Group. Also taking charge of the stage will be Prakash Sangam, CEO of redBus, which is the world’s largest bus ticketing service that is ‘Made in India’. Prakash is engaged in growing the market leadership of redBus in the Indian market, expanding redBus to other countries globally and extending the business into adjacent travel segments of Hotels and Holidays. The serious part of the day will end with ABBYs – considered to be the Oscars of Indian ad awards to honour creative excellence in advertising. ABBYs are also the biggest and the most prestigious ad award show in the country attended by more than 2,500 professionals from the marketing, advertising, media, research and PR fraternity.
Day 3 will open with Knowledge Seminars featuring Shobhaa De; Carter Murray, Worldwide CEO, FCB; and Jean Lin, Global CEO, ISOBAR. Post lunch, ex army man Raghu Raman will take centre stage. Raman is the President Risk, Security and New Ventures at RIL. He is the former founding CEO of National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID), GoI. In his earlier avatars, he has led Mahindra First Choice, Mahindra Special Services Group and Mahindra-British Aerospace joint venture as the CEO. The day will end with and awards night that will include Digital ABBYs, print, film, film craft, integrated advertising, out of home, ambient media and design.
