Putting a Goan mark at the global stage, Goa-based Amey Chodankar, working with Dentsu Creative, Bengaluru, bagged the ‘Creative Director of the Year’ award at the prestigious Cannes Lions Festival Of Creativity 2022. The Lions Creativity Report features the most creative people and businesses in the world, alongside the insights and knowledge on how they are using creativity as a lever for growth and progress. Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity released its ‘Lions Creativity Report” rankings for creative excellence in branded communications. The creative rankings, which are compiled using data from Lion-winning and shortlisted work from 2022, include top performing Director, Art Director, Creative Director and Copywriter.
Besides Amey Chodankar, the only Goan to win the award, the Creative Director of the year award was shared by the entire team of Dentsu Creative India which includes Aabhaas Shreshtha, Ashwin Palkar, Binaifer Dulani, Geetika Sood and Kushal Lalvani.

As a Bachelor of Fine Art, Amey adored art as a child and received various honours. He is known for his digital prowess in creating viral, bold and meaningful ideas. With over 16 years of experience in design, creative art direction, and leading a team of online and offline designers, Amey spearheaded multiple brands, driving design-centric and award-worthy projects.
He was an active creative lead for some of the agency’s biggest award-winning campaigns. Some of the highlights include ‘Vice The Unfiltered History Tour’, ‘The Better Half Cookbook by Swiggy Instamart’, ‘Swiggy Voice of Hunger’, ‘Flipkart HaggleBot’, ‘Max Fashion- Behen Kuch Bhi Pehan’, ‘Uber Jersey Knows No Gender’, ‘Uber ICC World Cup’, and ‘Uber Leave Your Car Behind’.
