It’s that time of the year again, when biking enthusiasts will get their gear in order, rev up their
machines and head to Goa with their friends. This is the chance to ride down
from every corner of this great country and party with the best, the toughest
and most adventurous men and women of this generation.
November will see over 20,000 bikers from across India migrating
to Goa to celebrate days of riding, brotherhood, bikes, music and motoring
heaven. The festival, which is also considered to be one of the biggest biker
raves in Asia, will take place on November 24 and 25, 2017 at Vagator.
India Bike Week will also have notable bikers like Freddie
Spencer, one of the greatest and youngest world champions of the ‘80s. A
consecutive championship winner across two classes (250cc and 500cc), Freddie is
the only man to achieve all this. Leslie Porterfield, riding since the age of
16, is today the Fastest Woman on a Motorcycle according to her Guinness Book
of World Records’ title, as she set the speed record in 2008 at Bonneville
Speedway. With three land-speed records and a favourite of the Bonneville 200
mph club, she’s a businesswoman, mother of twins and a designer of motorcycles
built for speed. The speakers for this year’s edition also include Vinod Rawat,
Dhruv Dholakia, Kumar Shah, Melissa Pierson, Ravi Verma, Dilip Muralidaran,
Neel Jagtap, Pooja Dabhi amongst others.
IBW is also hosting a Mega Moto VLogger Meet Up featuring the
top 20 Moto Vloggers in India. Names like Oggy F, Vikas Rachamalla, Big Bang
Biker, RidewithRaj, Zohair Ahmed and others will be in attendance.
Nicole Mody, food curator and author, will curate the Food
Parks, which will feature street food specialists, home chefs, food trucks,
Goan food, kebab and barbecue experts and much more. IBW will also feature,
interesting Beard and Tattoo competitions along with a Biker & Beach
Fashion Show and the Moto Art Project. Other attractions include, the Wheelie
Machine, the great IBW Strong Men and Women of Biking Competitions, Stand up
Comedy, Live Music, Karaoke and much more.
Some of the world’s best biking and accessory brands have been
invited to showcase their world-class gear in an all new Biker Mart and Expo.
IBW will also welcome over 280 pan Indian and Asian Biking Clubs, with the 30
largest introducing themselves on stage, riding in a Club Parade and showcasing
their clubs at their dedicated IBW club pavilions.
A purpose-built Flat Track Harley-Davidson Street 750 by
Rajputana Custom will invite bikers to lay down their best Flat Track timed
laps – the best time will win the fastest rider a prize.
The IBW Enduro Track will host the Triumph TIGER TRAIL, where
those interested can learn the intricacies of riding a Triumph Tiger 800 from
Triumph’s professional Enduro riders.
Importantly for India, the all new ‘Innovation Class’ of
India-built biking tech has been created, where three heroes of India Biking
will be selected to celebrate IBW’s prestigious ‘Honour Roll’. Legends of long
distance, transnational Bike Trips will present India Bike Week’s first ever
Film Festival.
Film and television actors Rohit Roy and Ram Kapoor will also be
present. Rohit says, “I am really excited to be part of IBW and to be there
with my biking community friends. I have been an avid biker since school and
always look for reasons to ride my machines in the country and abroad every
time I get a chance.” Ram says, “I’ve been a bike lover since I was a little
boy and now I have a few bikes of my own. I’m now an avid rider and a proud
member of the Indian biking community, which seems to be growing by the second.
I’ll be riding down to Goa with my riding buddies.”
