The results of the 9th Tiatr Competition ‘B’ Group organized by Kala Academy at Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir, Kala Academy, were recently declared. In total, eight institutions participated in the competition. The judges who judged the competition were Elvis Sequeira, Pascoal Francisco Aniceto Lourenco and Aplone Rebello.
Tiatr ‘Hunvar’ staged by Barebhat Social and Cultural Association, Raia have been awarded the first prize. ‘Maka Salvar Kor’ staged by Pacheco’s Dramatic and Cultural Association, Curtorim and ‘Rog’ staged by Sant Matevachim Noketram, Azossim have won second and third prizes respectively. The consolation prize was awarded to ‘I Am Sorry’ staged by Dynamik Art Entertainment, Panjim.
The first prize for Best Acting in male category was bagged by Marcos Gonsalves for the role of Kistu in the ‘Hunvar’ whereas the second prize was awarded to Carmo Judas Savio Pacheco for the role of Ray-Bapui in the ‘Maka Salvar Kor’. The merit certificates of acting (male) have been awarded to Cryuf Pereira (Ryan-Padri) (Maka Salvar Kor), Milburn Viegas (Yen-Hero) (Maka Salvar Kor),
The first prize for best acting in female category was awarded to Ashwetha Ellreda D’Souza for the role of Rosalin in the ‘Hunvar’ whereas the second prize in acting was bagged by Venita Salvina D’Costa for the role of Avoi in the ‘Maka Salvar Kor’. The merit certificates of acting (Female) have been bagged by Shamin Pereira (Annie) (Rog), Clareema Fernandes (Shanti) (Rog), Avila Pereira (Avila) (I Am Sorry), Denelza Travasso (Christabelle) (Hope Love Sacrifice), Sonia Travasso (Rhea-Dhuv) (Maka Salvar Kor) and Gloria Ferrao (Monalisa) (Nishtavan).
The Best Negative Role first prize was awarded to Avito Pires De Menezes for the role of Sarpanch in ‘Hunvar’ and the second prize was bagged by Alistor D Costa for the role of Desmond in the ‘Maka Salvar Kor’. The merit certificates of acting Negative Role have been bagged by Craby Jude Fernandes (Pushpa) (Rog) and Monica Fatima D’Mello (Monica) (I Am Sorry).
The Best Comedian Male award was bagged by Saldie Colaco for the role of Anthon in ‘Hunvar’. The merit certificates for comedian male was awarded to Dylan Sequeira (Redo) (Maka Salvar Kor).
The Best Comedian Female award was bagged to Sandra Colaco for the role of Pettul in ‘Maka Salvar Kor’. The merit certificates for comedian female was bagged by Jade Abigail Cruz (Pedrin) (Hunvar) and Juvency Simoes (Juliet) (I Am Sorry).
The Best Child Artiste in Male category was awarded to Cassius Fernandes for the role of Rohan for the ‘Hunvar’.
The Best Child Artiste in female category was awarded to Bevanna Fernandes for the role of Chinku for the ‘Amdar Porjecho Kamdhar.’ The merit certificates for child artist female was bagged by Aliva Cardozo (Naira) (Hunvar) and Thea Francia D’Souza (Thea) (I Am Sorry).

The best music band award was bagged by Roy Menezes and band members, Theodore Alvares, Xavier Fernandes, Nevil Cardoso and Benny Cardoso for ‘Rog’ and the merit certificate for Music band was given to Senon De Souza and band members, Nolvert Cota, Manuel Fernandes, Nevil Cardoz and Franoy Gomes, for ‘Hunvar’.
The best make-up award was awarded to Tania Ramdas Gaikwad for ‘Rog’ and the merit certificate for make-up was given to Fermino Goes for ‘Hunvar’.
The best costume award was awarded to Avadhoot Sahakari for ‘Hunvar ‘ and the merit certificate for costume award was bagged by Alfeliza D’Mello for ‘Hope Love Sacrifice.’
The best background music award was given to Yash Maramangallam for ‘Hunvar’ whereas merit certificate for background music award was bagged by Craby Jude Fernandes for ‘Rog’.
