Junior Herald organises fun sessions for children

 Junior Herald recently
organised its first edition of Ganesh Utsav at Club Harmonia De Margao where 70
children in the age group of 5 to 13 years, participated in different
activities and were awarded with certificates. Sanjay Mandrekar and Ronil
Satodkar, two painting and clay modelling instructors from Bal Bhavan, taught
children to create different moulds in the form of fish, flower, duck, etc from
eco-friendly mud clay, which was sourced from Bicholim.

Chaitra J Navelkar, a dance
instructor at Bal Bhavan, choreographed a dance on Bal Ganesha and Fugdi
folk dance, where kids started with Bharatnatyam Namaskar and learnt
different steps through body movements. Children enjoyed the event as it was an
entertaining session with hands on experience, as they made new friends, built
their confidence and were filled with enthusiasm.

Prizes were given to the best boy
and best girl wearing traditional outfits. They also enjoyed team building
games and music like hula-hoop, longest chain of straws, Queen of Sheeba,
musical chairs, group number game and floating balloon game, with exciting
prizes.

Sunita Dwarkanath Kavlekar from
Ponda prepared a traditional lunch as well as refreshments. The event was
supported by Clube Harmonia De Margao.
