Leaving a mark on Goa’s blogosphere

Goa will be hosting 15 renowned international bloggers on a 10-day travel adventure in Goa. Curious about what is happening? Café has the details

In a novel initiative, Goa Tourism Development
Corporation (GTDC), in collaboration with Leave UR
Mark, is hosting adventure, food and luxury bloggers
from across the world in a 10-day travel adventure in
Goa. Through the medium of these renowned bloggers,
this exercise will showcase the rich cultural diversity,
history, food, adventure and luxury experience in Goa.
Being billed as ‘#Escape2Goa’, this event will be held in
collaboration with a social enterprise – Leave UR Mark, and
is expected to digitally reach 4.5 million people across 30
countries, five languages and eight different social media
platforms. The programme will be held from November 12
to 22, 2016.
Nikhil Desai, Managing Director, GTDC, says, “We
are excited to have our bloggers experience Goa’s rich
cultural heritage which travellers would find to be a cove
of hidden treasures. Through food, nature and decadence,
our bloggers will share authentic first hand travel tips and
showcase Goa in totally unique ways.”
The bloggers will get to experience the best of Goa
and all its facets – be it Goa’s heritage, hinterlands, culture
or cuisine. The bloggers will get a peek into the state’s rich
historical past through a tour to the forts of Tiracol, Reis
Magos and Cabo de Rama. Activities like a heritage walk
through Fontainhas, photographing old Goan houses,
folk dances, grooving to the Goan music, etc will give the
bloggers an insight into Goa’s heritage. The handicrafts,
rock carvings, authentic Goan cuisine, churches and
temples, adventure tourism and more are sure to leave
the ‘guests’ blown
away and, most of
all, educated about
Goa. The bloggers
will also get a taste
of Goa Tourism’s
new initiatives,
a tour through
spice plantations, wellness and spas and, of course, an
experience of the sandy shores known to be among the
best in the world, Asia and India.
Some other highlights of the trip will be cooking classes
from Goa’s top chefs, sunrise yoga on the beach, trekking
through sanctuaries, cycling through villages, staying at
a heritage homestay and volunteering with children to
empower them through art. The bloggers will experience
the pace of life and travel that is unique to the state.
