Kala
Academy’s annual tiatr competition is something tiatr fans look forward to as it offers them
something new and different from the regular commercial tiatrs. As part of a
competition, the tiatrs presented have to strictly follow the tiatr format.
Apart from some unusual topics chosen by some directors, the comedy interwoven
in the play and various types of songs add variety to the presentation.
Kala Academy’s 45th tiatr ‘A’ Group Competition 2019-2020 has 12

from matters pertaining to marriage and varied relations in family, while

hypocrisy and other social-related topics.
With big prize money to be won, the participants have left no
stone unturned in taking care of all details, big and small, which includes the
stage designs and sets, light designs and the live music as well as background
music.
Apart from the regular three judges who are appointed by Kala
Academy for the judgment of the tiatrs, this year, an additional judge has been
appointed by the organisers in order to check the tiatr script and whether the
presentation on stage has strictly followed script submitted by the participants
prior to the performance. For this competition, the judges are Antony San
Fernandes, Joe Rose, Avito Fernandes and Premanand Sangodkar.
The
results of the competition will be declared shortly after all the performances.
There will be first three winners, besides individual prizes in various
categories. The Kala Academy’s 45th ‘B’ Group Competition will follow this
competition in March
