Goa has a unique celebration on the eve of Diwali, which is the tradition of burning of Narkasur, an effigy symbolising evil and darkness. Every nook and corner of the State, has these demonic looking Narkasurs standing tall. However, the time to view their artistic creations is very short as within a few hours Narkasur is burnt leaving behind only ash. Shree Mahalaxmi Sateri Chavdekar Yuvak Sangh, Neura won the first prize at the Deulwada Yuvak Mandal Narkasur Competition at Mahalaxmi Temple followed by Swayambhu Shantadurga Yuvak Sangh, Dongrim, which won the second place. Manthan Gawas won the Best Krishna award and Tejas Naik won the second place
