The 170th annual solemn Mass in honor of St Francis Xavier was held which was offered by the Panjimites Welfare Society on behalf of the Citizens of Panjim and others. The annual solemn mass was celebrated by Fr Walter de Sa, parish priest of Immaculate Conception Church, Panjim, along with Fr Patricio Fernandes, rector Of Bom Jesus Basilica, Old Goa, Fr Roque da Costa, chaplain of St Sebastian Chapel, Fontainhas, Panjim, Fr Selwyn S Pereira, assistant parish priest of Immaculate Conception Church, Panjim, Fr Michael Rebello, ex-assistant parish priest of Immaculate Conception Church, Panjim and Fr Sukhdev Tirkey, priest in residence at Immaculate Conception Church, Panjim.
On the occasion of 170th anniversary, a felicitation ceremony was organized by the Panjimites Welfare Society, and the following members of the Society were honored, Custodio M Estibeiro, founder president of PWS, Moises Pereira, founder secretary, Tomas Fernandes, founder joint secretary, Bartolomeu D’Silva, ex-president of PWS, Manuel A Fernandes, member of PWS, Rafael Pereira, ex-president of PWS, Wilfred E Goes, ex-president of PWS, Antonio George, member of PWS and Samuel D’Silva, ex-assistant treasurer of PWS.

Posthumous members of PWS who were also felicitated were JB Gonsalves, founder chairman of PWS, Paixao Braganza, founder vice president of PWS, Joaquim Cardozo, founder treasurer of PWS, Pedro MB Jorge, founder member of PWS, Crisanto Pereira, ex-president of PWS, Domingo Goes, ex-member of PWS and Caitan Costa, ex-member of PWS on their behalf family members received the honors.
Also present were the Working Committee Members, Silvestre S Estibeiro, president, Constancio Godinho, vice president, Rosario S Estibeiro, secretary, Nascimento D’ Silva, treasurer, Francis Jorge, assistant treasurer and Christopher Pereira.
